Taking Some Time Off For Yourself
The value of spending time alone is often undervalued. As soon as we leave school, life seems to take over completely with adulthood bringing in some much unexpected surprises. From that day that we start our first job, we tend to work around the clock, with eight to nine hours at office, sometimes more and a very big part of our time spent stuck in rush hour traffic. We then come back home, possibly skip dinner and go to sleep only to wake up to the same old monotonous routine all over again. This continues for a few years until we get married and have kids, after which motherhood takes over completely. For some women due to financial commitments they are forced to balance full time work and mother hood which in itself is a full time job and for the next twenty years spending time alone is almost a long lost dream for most mothers and fathers alike.
Disadvantages of modern life
However, this lifestyle has been proven to take its toll on us and will result in numerous health conditions, physically and mentally. In fact, it has been found to be a leading cause of depression in most women. Therefore, it is of utmost importance that you as a woman find a way, although it might seem impossible sometimes to take some time off and spend some quality alone time.
It might be a great idea to get some of your old friends together and take a road tour with them while your husband takes up baby duty for a day or two. Of course, if you are not comfortable with your husband taking up the entire burden of it, you may have your mother or his mother come in and help hm out for a few days. See this post to find out more reviews regarding the best spot for your road trip.
If you feel that a road tour for a few days is a bit much, it may even help to just take a day off and go out for lunch or have some dinner with some friends from time to time. You may even be bold enough to go out and have some dinner with simply yourself and a good book.
Really, it doesn’t have to be about spending money or the most expensive and memorable activity. You may simply do something that you love by taking time off to visit a library and read a book or even simply to cook yourself a meal, if you are a person who loves to cook. Your options are unlimited, all you need to do, is to do something you enjoy.
